House in Trīsciems, in the Riga metropolitan area

The construction company Daudz Māju had committed to building a pleasant family home for the client. The project specified 20 screw piles, each 1500 mm long. The builders had already prepared the construction site by removing the turf and topsoil.

After inspecting the site, we agreed to use 10 screw piles of 1500 mm and 10 screw piles of 2000 mm in length—for both safety and cost efficiency. In other words, every second pile would be longer! For safety—so that every second pile would provide greater load-bearing capacity, as the pile heads needed to be left about 60 cm above ground level according to the owner’s requirements. For cost efficiency—to avoid using all 2000 mm piles.

In the end, the foundations are solid and secure!
